Mastodon has announced a major North American headlining run for fall 2026, revealing “The Poisonous Weapons Tour” which coincided with the release of their latest single, “Your Ghost Again.” The 27-date tour will feature support from Deafheaven and Alcest,
“The Poisonous Weapons Tour” is scheduled to begin Sept. 16 in Orlando, Florida, and will travel across the United States and Canada before concluding Oct. 24 at the Sick New World festival in Dallas. Stops along the route include Brooklyn, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal, Denver and Atlanta, as well as a festival appearance at Louder Than Life in Louisville. As noted, he tour announcement arrives alongside the release of Mastodon’s newest single “Your Ghost Again,” a tribute track honoring late co-founding vocalist and guitarist Brent Hinds, who passed away last year at the age of 51. The new track represents Mastodon’s first music since his passing and serves as the lead single for their upcoming, yet-to-be-announced ninth studio album. The forthcoming record will feature newly credited contributions from guitarist Nick Johnston and keyboardist João Nogueira, and represents the group’s first major new material since 2024’s collaborative single “Floods of Triton” with Lamb of God.
Regarding the thematic weight of the new track, drummer and vocalist Brann Dailor shared that “Your Ghost Again is about being in those familiar places you used to be with people, which for us is in the studio,” explaining how “your mind plays tricks on you, especially so soon after someone dies and you’re in the places where they always were. You just see them.”
